Cambiare was founded by Stan Orchowsky. Stan has been conducting human services research and program evaluation for over 40 years. He has worked for state and federal government and in the non-profit sector. He has worked in a wide variety of substantive areas, including criminal and juvenile justice, substance abuse services, domestic violence and sexual assault, human trafficking, victim services, mentoring, minority overrepresentation, gerontology and services for the elderly, and tribal justice. He is an expert in research design, program evaluation, data analysis and display, and data collection systems. Stan has taught undergraduate and graduate classes in research methods and experimental design. Stan’s background is in psychology: his bachelor’s degree is in social psychology, and his master’s and doctoral degrees are in experimental psychology, with a concentration in life-span developmental psychology.
Stan was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and has lived in RVA for over 40 years. He lives with his wife Sarah, a psychiatrist, and their two children, Amanda and Andrew, along with a small contingent of dogs (n=2) and cats (n=4) from the local shelter.
